WOCA Natural Soap Black for black and dark-finished wooden floors
Being phased out by WocaStore: available only while our current stocks last. Once it is gone, it is gone.
WOCA Natural Soap Black is a concentrated, conditioning floor soap for black-oiled, black-soaped and other suitable dark-finished interior wooden surfaces.
The soap contains nourishing plant fats and black pigments. During mopping, surface dirt is removed and a thin, breathable soap layer remains on the wood. This conditions the surface and helps improve its resistance to dirt and moisture.
The black pigments support and refresh the existing dark or black appearance. Shake the container very thoroughly before and during use to keep the pigment evenly distributed throughout the soap.
Which floors are suitable for Natural Soap Black?
WOCA Natural Soap Black is primarily suitable for:
-
Black-oiled wooden floors
-
Black-soaped wooden floors
-
Very dark-finished wooden surfaces
-
Floors, furniture and panels that may be maintained with black soap according to the finishing system used
Do not use Natural Soap Black on natural, white, grey or light-coloured wood without carrying out a colour test first. The black pigment may significantly and permanently change the existing colour.
Use WOCA Natural Soap Natural on naturally oiled floors. Use the corresponding colour variant on white or grey-finished wood.

Natural Soap Black or Eco Multi Cleaner?
WOCA Natural Soap removes surface dirt while applying a conditioning soap layer. Within the WocaStore maintenance plan, Natural Soap Black is primarily used for periodic nourishment, protection and support of the black appearance.
Use Eco Multi Cleaner for normal weekly cleaning and for removing everyday dirt, grease and signs of use.
The products are best combined as follows:
-
Eco Multi Cleaner: for normal weekly cleaning
-
WOCA Natural Soap Black: approximately once every one or two months for additional care and colour support
-
Suitable maintenance oil: periodically to restore the existing oil finish
Mixing ratio for normal maintenance
Shake the container very thoroughly before and during use. The black pigment may settle at the bottom and must be mixed completely into the soap.
For normal maintenance, mix approximately:
-
125 ml WOCA Natural Soap Black with 5 litres of lukewarm water
-
This equals a mixing ratio of approximately 1:40
-
A mixing ratio of approximately 1:20 may be used for the first maintenance treatment
Do not use more soap than necessary. Overdosing may cause a thick soap film, streaks, differences in sheen or local accumulation of black pigment.
How to apply WOCA Natural Soap Black
Step 1 – Always carry out a colour test
Test the product on a small, inconspicuous area or a separate sample board first.
Allow the treated area to dry completely and then check whether the black colour matches the existing finish.
Step 2 – Remove loose dirt
Vacuum or sweep the floor thoroughly. Remove sand, dust and other loose dirt before mopping.
Step 3 – Use two buckets
We recommend using:
-
One bucket containing the prepared soap solution
-
One bucket containing clean water for rinsing the mop
This prevents collected dirt from being spread back across the floor.
Step 4 – Use a cotton mop
Preferably apply the soap solution using the cotton mop from the Opti Set.
Wet the mop and wring it out carefully. The floor should be treated with as little moisture as possible and must not become soaking wet.
Preferably do not use a mop made entirely from microfibre. A suitable cotton mop distributes the conditioning soap solution more evenly across the wood.
Step 5 – Mop thinly and evenly
Work in the direction of the wood grain and distribute the soap solution thinly and evenly.
Avoid puddles and local overdosing. Uneven application may cause colour differences because the soap contains black pigments.
Step 6 – Allow the floor to dry
Allow the floor to air-dry completely before subjecting it to intensive use.
Assess the colour result only after the surface has dried completely.
Prevent an excessive soap or pigment layer
Using too much Natural Soap Black or applying it too frequently may cause soap and pigment to accumulate on the surface.
This can result in:
-
Streaks
-
Differences in sheen
-
Local black discolouration
-
Visible walking or sliding marks
-
A sticky or difficult-to-clean surface
Always use the recommended dosage and alternate soap treatments with normal cleaning using Eco Multi Cleaner.
If a thick or uneven layer has already developed, clean the floor thoroughly with WOCA Intensive Wood Cleaner before carrying out another maintenance treatment.
Natural Soap Black as an initial treatment
Under certain conditions, pigmented Natural Soap can be used as an initial treatment for untreated solid wood. However, using the black version is a specialist colour treatment that may significantly change the appearance of the wood.
Always test the treatment on the same wood species first and assess the result only after the surface has dried completely.
Do not use WOCA Natural Soap Black as an initial treatment without specialist advice if you are unsure about:
-
The wood species
-
The thickness and construction of the floor
-
The preparation and sanding method
-
The desired black colour result
-
Whether a soap treatment is suitable for the surface
A soap treatment also provides a different and generally less stain-resistant finish than an oil treatment.
Professional tip for a smoother finish
After the final soap layer has dried, carefully work it into the surface using suitable patina discs with a single-disc floor-polishing machine or a velvet disc with a rotating 6-inch machine.
This can help create a smoother and denser wooden surface. Test this treatment on a sample area first, as polishing may affect the colour and sheen.
Additional WocaStore maintenance plan
Based on many years of practical experience, WocaStore has developed its own maintenance plan. This plan differs in certain respects from manufacturers’ general maintenance recommendations.
The recommended sequence is:
1. Thorough initial cleaning when required
Use WOCA Intensive Wood Cleaner when old contamination, grease and accumulated maintenance layers must be removed completely.
Allow the floor to dry completely afterwards.
2. Restore the oil protection
Use a maintenance oil that matches the colour and system of the existing black or dark finish.
Do not automatically use Natural or White. Always check which oil was originally applied to the floor.
3. Periodically condition with Natural Soap Black
Use WOCA Natural Soap Black approximately once every one or two months for additional care, protection and support of the black colour.
4. Carry out normal weekly cleaning
Use Eco Multi Cleaner for normal weekly cleaning, or more frequently when necessary.
This removes everyday dirt and grease before contamination can accumulate between the conditioning maintenance layers.
