WOCA Natural Soap White for white-oiled wooden floors

WOCA Natural Soap White is a concentrated, conditioning floor soap for the regular protection of white-oiled wooden floors, furniture and other white-finished interior wooden surfaces.

The soap contains nourishing coconut and soya fats, together with a small amount of white pigment. Each treatment leaves a thin, protective soap layer on the wood. The white pigment helps preserve the light appearance of the wood and reduces the risk of the floor developing an overly yellow or warm appearance over time.

For normal weekly cleaning and the removal of dirt, we recommend Eco Multi Cleaner. Use WOCA Natural Soap White as an additional treatment whenever the floor requires extra nourishment, protection and a light refresh of its white appearance.

Use the white version only on white-oiled, white-soaped or other light-finished wooden surfaces. For natural or dark-oiled floors, use WOCA Natural Soap Natural.

WOCA Natural Soap White or Eco Multi Cleaner?

Use Eco Multi Cleaner for normal weekly cleaning and for removing dirt, grease and signs of everyday use.

Use WOCA Natural Soap White when you want to provide a white-oiled floor with additional nourishment and apply a thin, protective soap layer containing white pigment. The two products can be used alternately.

Using Natural Soap too frequently, at an excessively strong concentration or unevenly may cause soap layers and white pigments to accumulate locally. This can result in streaks, colour differences, differences in sheen or visible sliding marks. Always use the recommended mixing ratio and apply the solution evenly.

Mixing ratio for regular maintenance

Shake the container very thoroughly before and during use. The white pigment may settle at the bottom and must be completely mixed into the soap.

For normal maintenance, mix approximately 1 part WOCA Natural Soap White with 40 parts lukewarm water. For the first maintenance treatment, a mixing ratio of approximately 1:20 may be used.

We recommend using two buckets:

• One bucket containing the prepared soap solution

• One bucket containing clean water for rinsing the mop

First remove dust, sand and loose dirt with a vacuum cleaner, soft broom or dust cloth. Then apply the soap solution evenly using the Opti Set and a well-wrung mop.

Work in the direction of the wood grain and do not leave puddles on the wooden floor. Rinse the mop regularly in the bucket containing clean water.

Allow the floor to dry completely before subjecting it to intensive use.

Additional WocaStore maintenance plan

Based on many years of practical experience, WocaStore has developed its own maintenance plan. This plan differs in certain respects from the manufacturer’s general maintenance recommendations.

• Regularly remove sand and loose dirt with a vacuum cleaner or soft broom.

• Use Eco Multi Cleaner for normal weekly cleaning.

• Use WOCA Natural Soap White approximately once every one or two months for additional nourishment, protection and preservation of the white appearance.

• Shake and mix the white soap very thoroughly before and during use.

• Apply the soap solution evenly with the Opti Set, using as little moisture as possible.

• Avoid overdosing and the uneven build-up of soap and white pigment.

• Use WOCA Intensive Wood Cleaner when the floor requires thorough cleaning or before applying a new layer of maintenance oil.

• Periodically use WOCA Maintenance Oil White to restore the floor’s white oil finish and protection.

Natural Soap White as an initial treatment

Under certain conditions, WOCA Natural Soap White can be used as a light, white initial treatment for untreated solid wooden surfaces.

A soap treatment provides a different and generally less stain-resistant finish than an oil treatment. The final colour also depends on the wood species, grading, sanding method and natural colour of the wood.

A white soap treatment is particularly suitable for certain light-coloured, untreated softwoods. Please obtain advice before treatment if you are unsure whether your floor is suitable.

Solid softwood

Depending on the wood species and desired white appearance, mix the soap with water in a ratio of approximately 1:1 to 1:5.

Shake and stir the solution regularly to keep the white pigment evenly distributed. Apply the solution generously and evenly, then work it carefully into the wood using a white polishing pad.

Repeat the treatment, allowing sufficient drying time between layers, until the wood appears evenly saturated and the desired light appearance has been achieved.

Solid oak

Treating untreated solid oak with white soap is a specialist procedure. The floor construction, thickness, tannins and finish may all affect the final result.

As a guideline, a mixing ratio of 1:10 may be used for the first layer, followed by 1:5 for the next layer. Always ask WocaStore for advice before application to determine whether this treatment is suitable for your floor.

Always test the treatment on an inconspicuous area or sample board first. Incorrect or uneven application may result in colour differences, staining or deformation.

Professional tip for a smoother finish

After the final soap layer has dried, carefully work it into the surface using suitable patina discs with a single-disc floor-polishing machine or a velvet disc with a rotating 6-inch machine.

This can help compact and smooth the wooden surface, making it more difficult for dirt and moisture to adhere.

Maintenance after a soap treatment

Repeat the treatment with WOCA Natural Soap White whenever the floor begins to look dry or depleted or when its white appearance needs refreshing.

Use Eco Multi Cleaner between soap treatments for normal cleaning. This prevents new soap layers from being applied over existing dirt.

If the soap and pigment layer has become too thick or uneven, or if WOCA Maintenance Oil White needs to be applied, the existing soap film must first be completely removed with a suitable intensive cleaner.

• Indicative coverage when diluted for maintenance: approximately 320–400 m² per litre of concentrate

• Actual consumption depends on the dosage, wood type, surface and application method
